Energy
Today more than ever, a reliable and stable energy supply is a challenging task. The turnaround to renewable energies with all its effects requires a securing of grid stability, also with regard to the many subsidized decentralized generators and feeders. Due to the multitude of influences, network operators need reliable information about the condition of the networks, e.g. from the feeder to the local transformer station to the substation to the control room, in order to be able to regulate supply networks intelligently and efficiently and to control them safely. Nevertheless, there is high cost pressure on the extensive investments and renewals in the network infrastructure. Thus, both efficient fault annunciating and telecontrol technology with modern interface protocols such as 60870-5-104 or 61850 are required to, among other things, minimise or prevent failures and shorten restart delay times.
